FAQs
Can we join in?
Absolutely – the more the merrier! Just please ask the owner before borrowing their boat/paddleboard/kayak…
Where can we park?
There is a public car park at the top of Helford Passage (at the red sign, turn right and right) but it will fill up early and parking is unfortunately always an issue. The lower car park is for residents only and the beach front will be inaccessible, so if the top car park is full, please park on the roadside at the top of the hill and walk down.
Will the ferry be running?
Yes, the ferry will be running between Helford Passage and Helford Village as usual with no breaks for low tide. Running times: 9.30am to 9pm.
All further details on their website: helford-river-boats.co.uk/ferry or enquire at the Helford River Boats Kiosk, tel. 01326 250770 or on VHF Channel 37/M1
What food will be available?
Tessa's fabulous cake stall will have its usual delicious range of sweet and savoury temptations.
The Ferryboat Inn is running a BBQ and outside bars all day, as well as supplying their usual fare in the pub, teas, coffees and cold drinks.
Helford River Boats Kiosk will be selling ice creams, sweets and drinks, as well as freshly baked pasties and sausage rolls - please pre-order pasties/sausage rolls before Regatta day on 01326 250770.
We are coming by boat, can we tie it to the pontoon?
No - the pontoon belongs to Helford River Boats and is used for the Ferry and their hire boats, as well as for the RNLI when they come in.
Are there public toilets and baby-changing facilities?
Yes, the toilets (and baby-changing facilities) at the Ferry Boat Inn are open to the public.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are not permitted on the beach at all from May to September. When crossing the beach to reach the ferry, and throughout Helford Passage, please keep your dog on a lead at all times.
What are the tides on the day?
To be confirmed nearer the time.
